Big Taobao Haul Summer/Fall 2015

Hi everyone! How has your summer gone?! Mine was very busy because I’m in my final PhD year and I didn’t really had vacations… But I did get a Taobao Haul! 🙂

I’m really happy this time because many of the clothes I got were originals from Japan brands (yes, you heard well!). They were really cheap and obviously they had some minor flaws, but nothing I could not repair to enjoy the amazing clothes that are ultimately sold in Japan shops.

I hope you enjoy this haul and that it gives you inspiration for you Taobao shopping.

Strapless blue and floral maxi dress

Price: 58 yuan (8.2 euro)

Quality & Style: 9/10. I’ve been searching for the perfect maxi dress for summer all my life. I love the flower and cute style of Korean and Japanese summer dresses and Taobao was the only place where I could find them for cheap. I loved the originality and cuteness of this dress so I ordered it. When I received the dress I was very scared because the bust area was SO small, but it’s incredibly stretchable and fits very well up to 90cm I would say (so one size fits all in this case means: 60-90cm for bust area). I love the style, but as usual, it has a “but”: the fabric is very thin, though it’s OK for a summer maxi dress, but if you take a look on the inside… The sewing is not very good, it has loose threads all over and the lining is very cheap. However when you wear it, none of these things are seen so that’s the reason why I give it a 9/10, because for that price I think it’s a fair score and you look flawless when wearing it with wedges.

 

Floral bohemian maxi dress

Price: 89 yuan (12.5 euro)

Quality & Style: 7/10. Well, this dress was a little disappointing. I bought it from the same seller as the other maxi dress, and the fabric and sewing quality was better so I thought this dress would be more flattening… But when I tried it on, it looked weird on me… It fitted well, but it was like straight from the knee to the ankle, it had no flare… I don’t know but it just didn’t looked well :(.

 

Floral chiffon dress

Price: 89 yuan (12.5 euro)

Quality & Style: 8/10. This is a chiffon dress with a zipper on the side. It only fits a XS, so take this into account if you like it. This seller seems to be selling original Japanese brands with minor/small flaws, as this dress and the two following blouses had all small flaws. This dress concretely had the zipper bad sewn, and it took some help from my mother to fix it, but now it’s good to wear. I consider that with that price and seemingly being an original, the flaw was OK, but it required some work so that explains my lower score. It fits like a glove and gives you a very cute look.

 

Cream and green chiffon blouse

Price: 68 yuan (9.6 euro)

Quality & Style: 9.5/10. I was super excited with this blouse! The chiffon is great quality, the design is beautiful and cute, the details are great. However, as I said, this blouse came from the same seller as the previous floral dress, and that meant that it could have some kind of flaw. In this case, the straps were sewn twisted. So I had to separate the straps and re-sew them correctly, but it was an easy fix and guess what?: It was an Axes Femme blouse.

 

Pink chiffon and mesh blouse

Price: 58 yuan (8.2 euro)

Quality & Style: 10/10. This blouse was the one with the best quality from the three items that I got from this seller. The flag was a tiny rub in the bottom area, the one you would normally wear under the jeans so that is like if the blouse was in perfect condition for me. The tag was ripped off, I wonder why. The fabric is thick and very good quality and it is seemingly a Repipi armario original.

 

Brown lace dress (now sold out :()

Price: 69.9 yuan (9.8 euro)

Quality & Price: 10/10. This dress was just perfect, I have nothing to say except that I love it. At first, I wanted the white one but when I received it and tried it on I changed my mind. It’s lined with brown satin and the lace is very good quality. It comes with a lace belt too. Apparently, it’s a Liz Lisa replica.

 

Floral pants

Price: 69.9 yuan (9.8 euro)

Quality & Style: 10/10. These pants were just as seen in the picture. To me it seems like they are original Liz Lisa pants. The size was accurate and they were really cheap for the great quality. Very cozy for next fall/winter.

 

Ruffled chiffon blouse (no longer available in the seller shop :()

Price: 89 yuan (12.5 euro)

Quality & Style: 9.5/10. I spent a little more money on this blouse compared to the other clothes because I fell in love with it as soon as I found it on Taobao. The style and quality is just as seen on the picture. One of the ruffles was a little folded, but it has an easy fix. I love the furry texture of the dots decorating the blouse. Very recommended for spring, summer or even fall.

 

White dots blouse + Khaki shorts with suspenders and satin belt

Price: 95 yuan (13.4 euro)

Quality & Style: 9/10. The interesting thing about this purchase is the fact that it’s a set. I like sets because you don’t have to think about buying something to match the specific clothes you bought, with sets you have it all! The quality is good, not as good as the one from the previous clothes I showed you, but good enough to wear and look good. The tags read “Cissei”, I’m not sure if it’s an original, but I’m OK with that.

 

Chocolate resin necklace

Price: 42 yuan (5.9 euro)

Quality & Style: 9/10. I love it! This seller had also donough necklaces, cake necklaces… yummy! Next time I will get another one! The length is similar to that of sweater necklaces, just a little shorter. I gave it a 9 because I thought the finish would be more shiny and polished, but it was a little like child plastic toys. Very cute though.

 

Kitten and fish silver bracelet

Price: 40 yuan (5.6 euro)

Quality & Style: 10/10. I love cats! So I definitely needed this bracelet. It’s worth the price. I tried to search for the same bracelet on Aliexpress and Ebay but it was way more expensive, and this one was just perfect. Very recommended!

Taobao sandals and sneakers review!

Hi everyone!

It’s time for the Taobao shoes review! As you would imagine by now, I love Taobao! It has endless cute things to buy, and I usually make an order as soon as I have some spare money. I spend lots of time surfing the website and I even make wishlists and then favorite lists to select only some of the items because I like so many things! :D. I’ve always used Taobaoring as my intermediate agent, and I’m very happy with their service. I nearly always use EMS as shipping service because it’s fast, but I’m considering using SAL or Airmail in the future for bigger orders, as EMS always means custom taxes… In this case, as the order were only two pair of shoes I used Singapore Airmail.

But let’s start with the review! I had a really hard time finding cute sneakers and sandals at the beginning of summer so I decided to look for some cute shoes in Taobao. They ended costing the same or even a little more than if I’d have bought them in Spain because of the shipping costs, but certainly they are more special and cute than anything I could ever find in Spain shops!

Light blue canvas and lace sneakers

The shape is the usual for sneakers, but they have some nice details: the “lace” fabric in the lateral gives the sneakers a really special and cute look, they also have zipper pieces as decoration and I really love the white dots over light blue background color of the fabric. I have decided the best way to wear them is with socks in pastel light colors as the lateral lace is a very transparent.

Price: 49 yuans (~ 7.9 USD or 7.2 euro)

Colors: available in light blue and dark blue.

Brand: offbrand

Pros:

• They are really cute, I didn’t even know that this kind of sneakers existed until I found them in Taobao by chance.
• They are very comfy as they have a thick insole.
• The sizing the seller provides is accurate and they fit perfectly! Just for reference, my feet measure 24cm, so I usually wear a EUR38 and that would correspond with Chinese 39, which is the size I got.
• They are really cheap!
• …Did I said they are the most cute sneakers I’ve ever had? 😀

Cons:

• The lace part doesn’t seem like it’s going to last forever, but hey it’s OK for the cheap price and I thought it was really worth to wear them for whatever they last.
• One of the zippers in the right sneaker hurts a little in the ankle but I think it’s because I need to soften them a little by wearing them.

Overall score: 9.5/10

Pink pastel sandals with rhinestones

I was tired of the same boring flat or low-heeled sandals every summer, so I started my Taobao journey to find the perfect sandals, and I think I found them!

Price: 109 yuans (~17.55 USD or 16 euro)

Colors: available in pastel blue, pastel pink and white

Brand: Selftrend. I did my research and I think it’s an original Korean shoes brand, not a replica of some kind. That would explain the higher price and also the higher quality.

Pros:

• Very cute!
• Sooooo comfy. I was amazed at how comfy the insole of these sandals are. They have some platform but you don’t even notice it. Great!
• The strap is like a hook, so they are really fast to put on and also to remove.
• I think the price is really OK for the material quality, they look durable.
• The size is accurate, as I said my feet measure 24cm and this time I got the Chinese size 38 because with open shoes, I don’t like them being too big.

Cons:

• The front part is a little lifted upwards. I think this is one of the reasons why they are so comfortable, because they somewhat adapt to the footsteps, but when you are static, that part makes the toes look a little strange. Maybe it’s just my appreciation, and it’s only a little con.

Overall score: 9.5/10

REVIEW: Liz Lisa Replica Pumps

Hi everyone! As I promised, today I’m gonna make a review about two Liz Lisa pumps I bought some time ago. Both are replicas, as the first ones are not in sale anymore and the other ones were really cheaper as a replica compared to the original ones, so I decided to give the replicas a try. Just a quick advice if you happen to like these pumps: the sizes are usually smaller than we are used to in Europe and USA. Just for reference, I usually wear a EUR37.5 and I bought a Liz Lisa L and they fit perfectly!!! I would say L size is fine for EUR37-38.

 Liz Lisa cream/pink pumps (no link for these pumps as the Taobao seller stopped selling them, sorry :()

I’m not sure which collection they are from as I tried them back in Japan but I fell in love with them. I kept searching for them for days on the Internet but I didn’t found the original ones. Some people were selling them second-hand, but I really preferred a new replica than the second-hand original ones, so I did a search on Taobao and found them there. The pumps are reeeeally high-heeled (about 12 cm), but they have some platform in the front, so they are more comfy to wear. Similarity to Original: 9/10. They are quite the same as the ones I tried in Japan.

Quality: 9/10. There are some little areas where the glue is visible, but for the price they are nearly perfect

Price: 188 yuans (around 28 euro). The price of the original pumps was about 80 euro!

Overall score: 9/10

 Liz Lisa brown suede pumps

I got these pumps later and they are from Liz Lisa’s Twinkle collection. I saw them in Kim Dao’s blog (she’s a really good blogger and a nice person!) and immediately loved them! They are also a replica from Taobao. These pumps are a little less high heeled (around 9 cm) and they have a nice front platform which make them really easy to wear despite the high heel. They are more comfortable than the first ones, but I really love both. Similarity to Original: 10/10. I couldn’t find any difference with the stock photo. They even came with tags.

Quality: 9/10. They are perfect except for a little area in the back of one of the pumps, where some glue is exposed. It’s no big deal though, as the ribbon in the back can be slightly moved and this way you can cover the little flaw.

Price: 188 yuans (around 28 euro).

Overall score: 9/10 So that’s all for now!!! I hope you liked the pumps!!! I really do, and I got nice compliments when wearing them! Please leave any comments/questions/whatever in the box below! 🙂
